I am one of the PP's who said it wasn't either of my kids experience at Sidwell. I only posted that once on this thread. So there is another or multiple others who share the sentiment.
Yes, and there are multiple others who have negative or meh sentiments about Sidwell based on their experiences. The takeaway? It’s not a happy place for everyone. There are factors at Sidwell that contribute to unhappiness.
The takeaway: it’s a school! Some people will be happy and some won’t be!
Sure this is true everywhere a mix of happy and unhappy people. But those of us with kids at multiple schools can recognize Sidwell is different on this dimension. Yet we also see that our kids chose it anyway - so it is what it is. They chose it and would choose it again - despite definitely saying ‘a happy place’ would not be their description of Sidwell. Meanwhile, our kid at another rigorous school would 100% describe their school as a happy place. As would we. To each their own. We have one of each. But there’s not a single one of our family (Sidwell kid included) that would use happy place in a top 10 words to best describe Sidwell.
