I was 17 when I was a freshman in college. I definitely dated guys older than 21 (but not much older). They weren’t predators or even particularly more mature. Nothing bad happened. OP’s DD will be leaving the house soon. You have to trust her to make decisions some time
I was in college full time at 16. Biology premed and 2 years each Chinese and Japanese. (Granted I lived at home and took 5 years to finish) I wish I met a music dork BF when I was 17, could have skipped on on wasting time on losers for 10+ years before I met my husband. God forbid she's snugging on a couch watching a dorky musical with her BF and not doing keg stands and getting run through by a decade of losers. DCUM harpies are jealous she is on the path to skip the loser BF stage of life
Wut
So true. My 16 yr old DD is dating the sweetest 17 year old boy who adores her. I look at them and are saddened by how the odds are against HS relationships making it beyond high school. I secretly wish they could make it so that she skips the dreaded dating losers stage for who knows how long.
Eh. All the women I've known who skip this stage in their 20s end up the ones dancing on tables like theyre starring in Coyote Ugly and crawling over age inappropriate losers in their 40s and 50s and it far more cringe at that stage of life.
How would you know what the women in their 40s and 50s did in their 20s unless they are close to you, maybe friends and family? Either way you don’t come out looking good.
