Will be an interesting next few months. I think this year, depending on the teams that move, will make it break GA. If the last of the top clubs leave GA, then it will certify itself as a 2nd tier league. If they can somehow even the playing field, then I can see them increasing market share.
This is a ridiculous comment. GA will be fine no matter how things play out. ECNL and US Soccer aren't on the same page and boys ECNL is flailing. In the long term if MLSN and GA maintain a united front forcing clubs to go all in on MLSN and GA ECNL will be in trouble. Although 90% of the commenters her are girl parents. In the real world girls soccer just isn't that important. Boys and men's soccer is.
Except it’s not when it comes to college placement and scholarships which is what the majority care about.
For youth clubs college placement is advertising that's it. They don't make any more or less money if players play in college. What this means is to maximize the amount of money a youth club can make you need to have a large number of BOTH boys and girls teams. MLSN + GA would likely make more money than ECNL + ECNL depending on the area.(personal opinion)
You people are way overthinking this stuff. Clubs will have no problem filling their rosters. It doesn’t matter if the teams play in ECNL or MLSN or GA or any other new league that comes along. As long as the rosters are filled clubs make the same money. Unless league changes cause a whole lot of players to stop playing soccer, it will all be fine.
Ehh, results matter.
What are results? Clubs make the same money if a team is in one league or another, or whether their teams win or lose. From the club perspective filling rosters is the only result that matters.
You are looking at today...today yes they can fill rosters. But if the club isn't getting results will they continue to fill rosters? Yes, with bad players. And they will continue to lose. And then they will get removed from the league. You know that can happen right? They need to win. Plus no one likes to play for a serial loser...just think already. It's not rocket science.
