BSA was going just great without girls but finally responded after years of insistence from organizations like NOW. After they finally give in to the demands, now they are subjected to mindless claims that they are "raiding" the GS for members. Let's face it, there are good reasons why BSA programming has become so popular with the families of girls. It allows all-girl experiences in the all-girl cub and scout groups without GS hyper-PC culture and required cookie sales. BSA girls are safer at BSA outings than near the adult drinking parties at GS glamping outings. Get real.
Hilarious. BSA saw the writing on the wall and started courting girls' families because BSA was scared it would bleed menbership after all the scandals. Membership and money. The nonsense about girls being "safer" on BSA outings is nuts. I was a GS leader at every level of troops, and my two friends were BS leaders. I know from experience that GSA's safety training and rules for outings, meetings, and especially for camping were vastly more detailed and stringent than what went on in Boy Scout meetings and camping trips. As for drinking mommies, I never saw it in 12 years as a leader and an adult staffer for camping. It's a fake image I've heard BSA boosters try to use against GS leaders before now, as the desperate BSA tries to badmouth GS to poach girls from GS.
