I think a fair amount of ppl on this thread have kids who are in the pool of players that DCU could be scouting so I think there is a genuine interest in what the academy is like and whether your child will thrive in it should they be noticed and invited to ID sessions. Bc by now, assuming your player is playing a high level, you have an idea of what kind of training and development your kid needs to having a long soccer career (say top D1 or pro). I’m curious as to whether your own club has talked about DCU and whether they are either advocating for your player to get scouted for example or whether they say stay away from the academy and explore options or whether they don’t talk about it at all.
Thats actually a good issue to raise. Its a tough one for the clubs in our area. On one end of the spectrum, there are programs that want to see kids get to a higher level. On the other hand, that is literally money leaving their pockets if the players roll to DCU. The interests are not aligned. But it all depends on the club you are at. I've seen clubs speak the truth about DCU but say that is where you need to be if you want to take your game to the higher level in our area. Have also seen clubs tell kids to straight up stay away from DCU but with their own interests top of mind. It just all depends on the situation and the club.
