One of the Indy attack, not sure if it was the so-called slasher, was throwing some reckless checks and got called for a slash to the head. I didn't see anyone get thrown out.
PP Langley parent here. I can confirm this. Yes it was the same attack/ coach kid. Yes he is too wild with the stick, nothing new. Yes a slash, yes hit the helmet, overly dangerous- no. Seen this 1000x before yes- from many players that don’t know how to play D. Penalty called and that would have been the extent of the rough play.
Different Langley parent here. According to my son, the Indy player was trash talking and skirmishing after game ended but before the handshake line, which resulted in the ref announcing that he is ejected from the NEXT game. This happened at the scorers table which is why parents are not aware of it. But from the parent sideline I could hear this player running his mouth the whole game. For Yorktown's sake, I hope that VEL upholds the ref's decision, so they can have reasonably clean game without one kid trash talking and taking cheap shots all over the field.
Don't know what to make of this. While I can see this happening there are just a bit of things that do not add up: So, player is trash talking and skirmishing after the game. This rises to the level of a ref ejecting the player from the next game. However A flag was not thrown which is standard for refs This did not draw enough notice for the people on the parents sideline to notice Additional players did not join in or pull people apart Coaches from either team didn't pull players aside It sounds very fantastical that a ref would eject a player for actions (trash talk etc) that would have been so minor that the people there didn't see anything out the ordinary, but so major that there was an ejection, if they indeed happen. Something just does not add up here. What I do know- If the league is not going to suspend the player, then a coach (dad or not) is not going to do so. If the league says they can play, they do. I know VEL and EB. I have played for EB. If the ref says they are ejected, EB and VEL will definitely support the refs and sit the player. I will withhold my judgement until next week to see if the player plays and I will have my answer to the honesty of the above posts.
This is an honest question as an outside observer, not a troll... I have been reading all of the posts, and watching this Independence team play and behave for a couple of years now... Indy parents, do you think that your coaching staff is actually doing a good job for your sons and players? Since you all drank the cool aid and listened to the current coach run out the former staff. If you don't agree with what is being done, why haven't you brought concerns about the unsafe and unprofessional program being taught and run? In my personal opinion (which is allowed btw), it is not only endangering your sons development as lacrosse players, but also as young men, learning that there is no consequences for your actions. Not only that, but if you care about kids as a whole, it is also endangering the safety of other boys in the Northern Virginia area. Just a question... Would love to hear the thoughts of Tiger Parents.
Not with Indy, but want to ask why you assumeall the parents "drank the (kool-aid)"? I have very good friends and interact personally and on the club circuit with some of these kids and parents. I have *gasp* first person spoken to them, have you? Why do you paint a wide variety of parents and kids with the same brush? The Indy parents and players I know are great people and players. Many did not listen to the current coach and were not really happy with the change in coach. FYI- I think that the staff beyond the HC is much the same as it was before with the old coach and you might know that if you spoke to someone. I do know that several parents have raised concerns about the same things posted here and things I have heard about that have not been posted here. This is not a democracy where the parents vote in a coach, this is done through the AD at the school. Yes you are allowed to have your opinion and I am allowed to have mine. You are not able to have your own facts though. From what I can tell you are passing judgement on players and parents that you do not know, have never spoken to and formed an opinion about based on snippets of games and anonymous internet postings. I challenge you to go out and speak with these people face to face and you might be surprised about what you find. Again - Am I happy with everything that has happened with Indy? No Am I happy with things that have happened my own sons team? No Have I seen very questionable things from other programs beyond mine or Indy? Yes I know many throughout LCPS and FCPS and PWCPS and have been around this game longer then I care to admit. I can 100% tell you a "dirty secret" and questionable actions about maybe 80% of the boys lacrosse programs in the area.
this sounds like a Kamala Harris word salad. I can't even tell what you are saying.
What big words can he help you with?
the problem is not any particular word, but it just rambles back and forth with no real point.
Maybe you should up the adderall? I made sense of the post and the guy has some points.
