He'll be ranked behind Jimmy Carter. And, he did NOT step aside. He was forced aside. He was threatened with the 25th amendment if he didn't step down. He had no choice. And, he is hardly finishing his term strong. One event and 2 phone calls last week is not strong. Meanwhile, Iran is threatening and high prices are affecting the lives of Americans. And, we had a base attacked with 6 or 7 service members critically injured. Crickets from Joe and Kamala. Biden goes to the beach.
He will more likely be considered one of the most consequential presidents in the modern era. -he ran for president to spare the country a Trump second term -he coordinated and executed a massive rollout of COVID vaccinations for the entire country -he navigated meaningful legislated that eased the negative impact of COVID and the supply chain issues -he navigated meaning legislation for infrastructure, manufacturing and the green economy which have all started to manifest positively for the US economy -he set a tone of "normalcy" after the chaos of his predecessor -he expanded the NATO alliance and held NATO together in the face of direct threats from Russia Does that mean everything is perfect? Of course not. Corporations are still charging too much for grocery store basics, but a president doesn't set prices, we live in a Capitalist society. There are still bad people doing bad things out there and yes, that means our brave servicemen and women who are in harms way are making sacrifices doing their jobs. It would certainly be better if Hamas, Hezbollah, Russia and Iran were not bellicose, but they are. Maybe if Trump hadn't emboldened both Iran and Russia, we wouldn't be where we are today, alas.
A consequential president would not get pushed from office by George Clooney.
