No. Germany was not the best team. The Germans did not deserve to win that game. The German shelled up and tried to hang on but were totally outplayed. Spain would win that game 9 out of 10 times.[/quote]

Germany outshot Spain 23 to 18, had 5 times as many corner kicks, and both attempted and completed more passes.  Possession was nearly even.

Guess you did not watch the game. Germany was dominated. Yes they shelled up and fouled Spain from the opening minutes. Germany’s coaches knew they could not play with Spain so they fouled and tried to injure the Spanish players(which they did). If the ref was decent two German players should have been sent off. As for the stats, stats are meaningless unless you watch the game. Goals change games. Germany is dirty team filled with thugs. Glad they lost playing that ugly soccer.[/quote]

I sure did. In fact, I watched it on a huge screen in a major European city, surrounded by Brits, Germans, Italians, Greeks, French, Croats, and a few Spaniards. Most of the crowd was pulling for Germany (unclear why, maybe host nation, Kroos, etc), and couldn’t believe it when the Spanish defender blocked a shot on goal with his outstretched arm and it wasn’t called.

Ref gave out plenty of cards, and Spain gave as good as they got, including horse collars. Unfortunately, Germany was a bad call and a few CM on multiple shots away from winning. We’ll see how both teams look going forward.  [/quote]
