It is immaterial what you think about the Ten Commandments. We do not live in a theocracy governed by one religion. If you want your kid to be surrounded by biblical teachings, then enroll him/her in a religious school. [/quote]

Actually someone said that and claimed the 10 commandments were written by a bunch of drunk guys. The moderator deleted the post but not the quote.

You know darn well they are not talking about the secular laws (that also happen to be commandments) against murder, fraud, and theft. They are talking about worshipping a particular god, not having idols (some religions do and those are allowed to be practiced in the United States of America), and keeping holy a particular faith's sabbath, even though they may be of a faith with a different or no sabbath.

I don’t agree with the atheists and anti-theists posting here that are calling people names, insulting LA, insulting poor people, insulting people who were not privileged enough to obtain a quality education, insulting people who have a different belief system than they do, is a good thing. Nor does doing so indicate any respect for other people. Nor does doing so indicate that the poster is educated themselves. It reflects very poorly on the poster.

Insulting people and calling people names, disrespecting their beliefs, is unAmerican and disrespectful. I would be ashamed if I were an atheist or agnostic, because the anti-theists posting here display the negative attributes they say religious people do. They aren’t making a good case for the intelligence and good morals/ethics purportedly possessed by non-religious people. It’s actually very off putting. Hating people you have never met is a terrible way to describe your world view. Judging an entire religion is a terrible way to show how good and kind you are. It does quite the opposite.[/quote]

Yes, I have no respect for people who believe in ancient mythology while empowering those who seek to take constitutional rights away from others. No respect.  None.  Nada.  If that is you, then too bad, you are entitled to your belief and I am entitled to believe you are part of a gigantic problem, explicitly or tacitly.

This point you are correct on. I do not discriminate against Christians specifically.  I think they are all a problem, and that is pretty clear to me.  That goes for Islam, Judaism, Scientology, and any others.[/quote]

I don’t think that you have to like religion. You can hate religion, every religion  But your hatred for religion is translating into hatred and disrespect for your fellow man.

If you feel that way towards every religious person on the planet, I saw with sincerity, I think that reflects upon you and not the people of the world.

Other people’s beliefs should not drive you to hatred. We can’t and won’t ever have the same beliefs. I can’t imagine hating everyone I disagreed with. Having so much hatred inside you will make you very unhappy. [/quote]
