Sandra Oh and anyone in Grey's Anatomy casting are terrible examples. Grey's Anatomy was created by an average looking black woman. Many of the women on that show are average while the men are hot. The creator chose characters to her taste, not to the taste of men or society in general. She wanted to see herself reflected in those characters.[/quote]

As an average looking black woman, I find what you deem terrible as fantastic. I love to see women who look like me being cast in romantic roles with all kinds of men.

Not just Miranda. Most of the men were conventionally  better looking than the women. The only clearly above average woman I remember was Katherine Heigl. I have not watched in a while, but I am talking  of the cast from around 2010. I find the character who played Meredith Grey to be average too. And Sandra Oh too.

The men were hot: Mcdreamy, Mcsteamy and the black guy dating Sandra Oh's character.
