Virtually every kid I know who went to Brown emerged with excellent job placements or graduate school offers. Sure, there are some rich kids there, but it's nothing like the atmosphere at a place like Harvard with its expensive/exclusive finals clubs.
Translation: Rich kids' parents use their networks to make sure their spawn get great internships and jobs after college. Has nothing to do with Brown. Brown actually feels cash strapped and low resource once you're on campus.
My middle class kid has done well and gotten funding for summer opportunities and excellent aid. So, I think cash is going to the right place. Dorms aren't great, if that's what you're alleging, but it really sounds like you have no first person experience with this school.
