I agree with everything the other doc on here is saying about insurance companies. People are paying a ton for insurance. Insurance companies are making a ton. We have been getting reimbursed something like 90 dollars per level 3 sick visit since 2008. No increase. Think of how much inflation we have had since 2008.
People just dont understand it. In dentistry we are getting $46 from delta dental for cleaning teeth, 15 years ago the hygienist was making $35-40/hour for a $46 cleaning appt. Now they are at $70/hour and its $46 for a cleaning!!!! LOL Has anyone ate our recently?? Something that you poop out in 24 hours is more expensive than a dental cleaning that should last 6 months????? Its broken, its the insurance companies and the politicians like obama (aka obama care) who made you feel all warm inside but forgot to mention that it will turn into a shit show. You're welcome! Blame your doctor! No wonder the thread's title is "Dr firing patients"
How many cleanings can you do in an hour? It's not 1 cleaning per hour is it? I know my hygienist doesn't spend an hour on my teeth.
The entire appt is one hour long and the hygienist refuse less time, if you give less time they demand their own assistant and they call it assisted hygiene. Honestly if you see an in network dentist with delta or care first insurance, its a loss for the practice and you are literally being seen with the hopes of finding something to do on you like a filling etc. We are out of network and I have been at this game for a long time and there's no way a cleaning appointment is profitable by even $1 if insurance involved, anyone that tells you different I would love to get an explanation.
