(Different from choosing not to drive regularly, or being unable to drive.) To me, it is a safety issue. But I also grew up in a rural area where you would get to a hospital faster by driving versus waiting for an ambulance, and where there weren't taxis (in the days before uber). Now I live in DC, but have similar concerns to being able to get to the hospital or urgent care quickly (largely due the fact that 911 doesn't get answered or ambulances take forever).[/quote]
