It's a fair concern. I know one AA female who matriculated there from Florida (not Miami, but not the sticks, either) within the last five years and was shocked the casual misogyny and racism she experienced at UTK. She personally was called a B at least weekly and a C and N at least monthly (the N often in combination with the B), and heard the same epithets hurled at others much more regularly. She loved the rah rah at the school, but never felt truly welcome there. [/quote]
