Plenty of non-grifters attend extension schools. You seem like you have a screw loose to paint those people with a broad brush.
Does it change your POV if you know it is the guy who"scalped"former Harvard prez Claudine Gay?
Firstly: OP you're a racist. Secondly: Plenty of people get degrees from Ivy to State extension school programs. It sounds like the person in question doesn't have morals and every school with an extension school is pretty clear on how to designate your certificate/degree. It doesn't make a difference to me that they were going after Ms. Gay - they were both cheaters.
The “extension school” thing is such an absolute grift. The only places with “extension schools” that can charge the equivalent of 1 year tuition+room and board for a State Flagship University, for online classwork over 12 weeks are these ivy schools. They know exactly what they are doing. Leveraging the name for big bucks, while at the same exact time trying to keep the air of being an elite, meritocratic and selective University. They literally say that the program carries the deserved distinction of Harvard (or any of the other ivies that have these programs), and that you can absolutely consider yourself a Harvard alumni and are listed in our database as an alumni!… but you also should distinguish the fact that this was the “extension school”. IMO, what Rufo did in this regard was just as sleazy as what Harvard itself is doing by offering their extension school and marketing it the way they do. However, none of this has anything to do with or changes the facts on the controversies about Gay. Idgaf that the guy who exposed her bull**** also engaged in his own sort of bull****. Two wrongs don’t cancel each other out. But it is very entertaining seeing people do everything in their power to defend Gay and Harvard. Like, we somehow can’t tell this is 100% political backlash. “Ohhh if that conservative is going to bring up all the bad stuff and lies my progressive URM friend did, I’m going to do anything I can to point out his failings!… regardless of it continues to damage the institution my friend loved!”
