They need the coats more than you do. These poor people don’t have access to any help.
Yeah, sure! Blame poors for the acts of lawless.
It's not the wealthy committing armed robbery.
It's not the poor either. These are crimes of opportunity.
I think they are driving around looking for victims. They are not just driving down Nebraska Ave and think "hey, there is a Canada Goose. Great thing I have this pistol I. This stolen car" These people are looking for victims.
+1 Gives them an adrenalin rush, and they have very little in the way of a conscience or empathy for others. On top of that, they know there won't be real consequences, and they get a lot od approval and attrntion via social media. It's tragic that they are growing up this way. The types of men who previously provided guidance as school principals and ministers aren't particularly visible any more.
This is why I wish church/temple etc -any faith, not fundamentalist--was still a prevalent thing. Kids are being raised by social media, in urban settings AND in the mid west. Seems like between this stuff and school shootings, we have a generation of sociopaths seeking some kind of sensation and belonging, even if its completely antisocial. Id prefer some influence from community structures, and church used to play a role in bringing people together and providing some guidance to the youngers.
PP here. I agree. I've worked with some amazing principals over the years who also provided wonderful guidance and appropriate consequences that did not strip self-esteem but involved extra study halls, mentoring, and cleanup details at school.
