DS attending UMD from NOVA has only been on campus for a few days, but he's having a blast! No a/c and all. And it's not even basketball season.  He's a CS major and absolutely thrilled. Doesn't regret his decision in the least. [/quote]
Hello fellow parent of a UMD CS major.   Congratulations.  Getting into UMD CS program directly as a freshman is a pretty big deal, per the registrar I spoke with.

My DS is there, too, as a CS major in University Honors. He's having so much fun.  He's played a few rec sports over the weekend that he normally doesn't play, and he had fun, met new people.[/quote]
University Honors...I believe your student resides in one of the fancy new dorms?!  Congratulations!  My kid is in Gemstone which means Ellicott. NOT fancy but loves location. Age doesn't seem to bother him. Have a good year. [/quote]
