She has those obligations whether she works or not and if she hasn’t kept working from her asset valuation at the time of her coming under court supervision, she would have quickly drained her fortune away to nothing. At present it is estimated at 60-70 million but was single digits before Jamie took the reins.

And yes Britney was muffled (not muzzled) during her conservatorship. We are all hit in the face since she got ‘free’ as to why that was done - she is damaging her brand no less than Kanye has by putting her florid manic episodes on full display of social media and potentially billions. Beyond the hyper sexuality, what must be heartbreaking for her sons is knowing the whole world is watching their seriously mentally ill mother live her mental illness in front of the world in ways other families who struggle on that journey do not have to suffer. Public humiliation adds another whole deep layer of pain to a family’s experience of coexistence with a mentally disturbed loved one.

Britney would have hated and reviled any conservator. Some might think it should always have been a non related party, but there are huge pitfalls there. How many times do we see music and other entertainment industry stars suing their managers for mismanagement of funds and or fraud? Too often. Sometimes family will also exploit, but more often family has a strong protective motive to keep their loved one safe from harm and theft. I am sure that Jamie and Britney’s relationship has been difficult for as long as she’s been mentally ill, and I am also sure he isn’t perfect and made mistakes and wasn’t what she wanted much if not most of the time.

But where is the horrible tell all from Jamie? Where is the sit down interview or social media posts denigrating Britney and exhibiting a callous and self serving nature?

I’m a lawyer. Lots of you here are also lawyers or married to them. Look at the evidence that is plain to see.

In my assessment there are no bad guys here. There is a family struggling with mental illness as millions of families do. There are relationships that are sometimes strained sometimes fractured and hopefully eventually repaired. There is a woman whose family helped her stay as healthy as possible for over a decade until she won the freedom to decompensate and self destruct.
