Alcoholism will do that. But this brings up a point that's ignored, and that is that he is HARDLY the only individual around. I've never seen a UFO or whatever the hell they're newly named. But I tend to believe that pilots, astronauts, and other highly credible individuals who are seeing something, are in fact seeing something.
