Yes, a lot of people are excited about this movie. It's a weird concept with fantastic marketing, and indie movie royalty writing and directing. If it gets bad reviews, then sure no one will see it - it'll be another Babylon. If it gets good reviews, it'll be huge - and might even get Oscars.

In the time it's taken you to be defensive about not knowing these filmmakers, you could have tried watching some of their movies. You don't need to be up on cultural stuff if you don't want to - but you don't get any points for deciding to opt out of basic knowledge about current filmmakers. It seems like you're just not interested in movies. That's fine! But it's certainly not something to brag about.[/quote]

NP but Noah Baumbach and Greta Gerwig being ‘cultural stuff’ is the epitome of white liberals in this area.  I’ve heard of them but if I asked my DH who is black he would have no clue who they were.  You are pretentious in your assumptions.  And probably not that fun to interact with.[/quote]
