DS12 is facing lots of meanness at school - he is a skinny, not very strong kid and they call him 'weak', 'slow' ,etc. Not bullying, just kids being kind of nasty. He is a bit overly sensitive about it too. I think he needs to practice comebacks that will better stand up for himself. He says he can never think of a comeback so I think we need to practice these at homes. Any thoughts on how to help him build these skills? Or what specific comebacks might be useful for this situation?
Actually this will work - I always tell my kids to go for the jugular and leave absolutely nothing off of the table because its either them or you. First tell him to roll his eyes, sign loudly, then tell the other kid to STFU or go suck a d*ck. Then say something nasty/insulting about a member of his family that has a ring of truth to it. Like if his mom is not thin, say "your mom is so fat, her ass has its own zip code" or if he has an unattractive sister - her face is so ugly it looks like someone drew it with their left hand; if his dad drives an old car or the family is not wealthy, say something about that them being poor or on welfare; if the kid is not known to be smart or has bad grades, hit him there. Hit him where it hurts so he'll think twice about coming after your son again - your son has to be brutal for this to stop. Trust me.
I hope your kids can fight.
