This is a ridiculous analogy. Screwing up your taxes is not a violent crime that can result in the death or bodily harm of others. It is not an immediate physical threat to society.

An armed assault is, and should be treated differently.

This guy was a known criminal. He'd been let go before and back to do the same thing and worse. His criminal streak and luck finally ran out. All of you PPs upset over this, tell your children that when you lead a life full of violent crime, there's a risk of death.
