If you steal the nuclear codes, it doesn't really matter if the person who turned you in did it for personal gain, love of country, a desire to protect innocent lives, or plain old schadenfreude. And it's wildly hypocritical to insert yourself into someone else's marriage and then spend a lot of time judging the person you helped betray for how they react to it.
