Avoid future headaches and switch to a different school. The school is not going to change.
+1 Hate to say it, but it might be the best path. If your DS has friends or other reasons he really wants to stay, you need to get assertive, start documenting every time conversations like this happen and specific examples from what the teacher says. Have your DS record somehow how it makes him feel. If you can get some other students to write or record how they feel about it that's also helpful. Probably start by sending an assertive (not aggressive) email to the teacher saying that you have concerns about the way issues around gender and power are being addressed in the classroom. Maybe ask if there's a time you could talk or meet to discuss those concerns. See what happens. If they're non-responsive or not sympathetic, elevate to the head of the department and cc the principal/head of school. It's a time-sensitive issue because your student (and other students) are experiencing these classes now and being impacted now. See if you can get some other parents to join you in addressing the issue. Having a "safe space" is not an excuse to place wholesale blame or to degrade entire classes of people as "protected speech." That's irresponsible and irrational. Be strong in standing up for your child.
