Jackson won this district. https://www.wbtv.com/2022/11/09/democrat-jeff-jackson-wins-new-north-carolina-us-house-district-14-race/?outputType=amp
That's a reliably D district. Jackson was a philospohy major and while in college enlisted in the Army Reserve. Deployed to Afghanistan in psyops. Psyops is a much lower level than Green Berets - Harrigan his opponent is a nuclear engineer, Green Beret. One reason Harrigan ran was the Kabul disastrous withdrawal. After psyops Jackson went to law school and his military position has been JAG as an Army Reserve or National Guard. Rank is not from combat or deployments. Neither are Buttigieg or Biden son types with zero to no danger yet play or played off military service for political gain. Jackson is a fine person and so is Harrigan. Based on Harrigan's experience and knowledge base I am not surprised he ran. Jackson from Afghanistan https://www.emory.edu/EMORY_MAGAZINE/winter2006/jackson.htm
