It was racist in that she used it in contrast to "nice middle class neighbor" as if her cleaners were none of those. She used "Mexican" as a catch all, as if this single word in itself was descriptor enough to let us know the difference, and as if somehow this made the cleaners more apt to lie than the drug addict next door. Mexican in itself is not racist. But OP used it in a racist way.[/quote]
