One theory - embraced as recently as yesterday on The View - is Christian nationalism is causing these mass shootings. Along with trump, it’s popularity is increasing, especially in Texas. Anyone else think this is what’s up?
This country used to be a lot more overtly Christian, kids brought guns to school and used them in high school gym clubs. We didn’t have nearly the level of violence committed with guns that we do now. While Christianity doesn’t need to be the solution, it’s certainly not the cause of the problem.
I heard someone say once that even if we eradicted religion, we'd find something else to fight about. Religion is just an excuse. People are greedy and selfish. And if they feel threatened, physically or by the "great replacement" of others, then they will cling to their religion and "way of life" to protect their place in the hieararchy.
