Over the past decade our school is gone from capacity to 20 something percent over capacity. It's really overcrowded. I wish more people would on enroll. They're just not building all these new schools like Woodward fast enough to deal with all the growth. I saw an ad from Blair the other day saying he wanted to build 30,000 more affordable housing units. All I could think about was do we have schools for all those new students?
During the pandemic, our W school brought in a bunch of portables. I guess because of the projected enrollment. They have sat empty for two years.
W's get all the resources.
You do realize that Title 1 and Focus schools receive way more funds (fed, state and county) than other schools, including the Ws? PTA and booster clubs at the Ws may have more funds, and that is privately funded by parents, not tax dollars.
Its not way more but they do get funding in K-3rd, some 4/5th to reduce class sizes because of the needs of the students. Come 4-5th and MS it all evens out and the W schools do get more in terms of enrichment and other things as the PTA's and booster clubs pay for it.
