[/quote] A classmate of mine in Rochester Hills, Michigan, turned down MIT to go to engineering school at U of Michigan. His family was middle class, and would have had to take out loans for him to go. They had two younger kids, as well, so they wanted to be able to afford to send all three kids to college.
