Yes you do. If you celebrated those holidays you would understand. There is a lot of preparation for Christmas and Christmas Eve that takes place the whole month. There are gingerbread houses to be made, cookies, shopping, presents to be wrapped, decorating the house and tree. Going to see lights.  It’s the whole month of December. We don’t just roll up to the actual day of the holiday and say Merry Christmas and hope everything comes together. Having that week off is essential.kids there may be traveling.[/quote]
Do you know what kind of prep goes into Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, and Diwali? They don't just "roll up" to holidays either. 
And, no, you don't need the whole month off before to prepare. You can make gingerbread houses and put your tree up on weekends, order gifts online or go to the store on your lunch break and wrap them after the kids are asleep, and see lights after school at night when lights are visible anyway. Some people start prepping for Christmas after Halloween, so maybe we should get the whole month of November off too?
The hypocrisy of complaining about 3 days off for major holidays of other religions when we have 3 weeks for Christian holidays. Not to say that we should have days off for Christmas or Easter, but boy, your perspective is off.[/quote]
