Shame we spent so much money building up bombs and tankers to win the wars we lost in the last century, instead of developing our capabilities in cyber, social, financial, and biological warfare. Russian society is so debased, drunk, and corrupt that it really wouldn’t have taken much to destabilize them from the inside out. You could unleash a virus worse than COVID and because they don’t trust their government, they would allow it to run unchecked. Instead, we let them destabilize us using tools we ourselves created, and are going all on in crap like crypto that they control, and we are the ones that are allowing a deadly virus to run unchecked. We couldn’t unleash a biological weapon because our own population would refuse to protect itself from itZ When it comes to suffering and death, Russians will out sustain us every single time. They will send their boys to die, they will starve, and they will survive to elect another dictator. They are the cockroaches of the world. A significant portion of our population won’t even wear a flimsy surgical mask and is threatening civil war because they can’t get a new F-150 this year. Our people have gone soft. There is no concept of sacrifice.
This makes no sense. Winning the cold war was no sure thing. But Russia is not the Soviet Union. They would crumble under a sustained US attack which is where we could be heading. What wars did we lose in the last century? Not Korea. We saved half of that country from a dark evil abyss. Vietnam? We lost the country but look at where we are today in Asia. Things turned out quite well and Vietnam likely one of our key Allies against China.
Biden took a military response off the table months ago. I am not gung ho on getting involved in a military conflict, but Biden should know that you never publicly take *anything* off the table. You leave your adversaries guessing what your next move might be. Biden is not the "foreign policy expert" that he sold himself to be and he has not surrounded himself with strong experts. These are mostly the same people who watched as Putin annex Crimea and did nothing. And, remember when Russia shot down the commercial aircraft in 2014? No response from the US. I am far from a war monger, but I also understand that Putin has gotten away with a ton of stuff and instead of holding him accountable, we give him Nord Stream 2. Great job.
If Russia and Germany want a pipeline built, what business is it of anyone else?
Germany is supposed to be a NATO ally... I'd ask who's side you're on but I think your question give me my answer.
