Americans can vote where they live, even if it’s not their permanent residence. Students have the same rights as military and their families, and others who reside somewhere temporarily. Students are very much affected by state and local government actions and policies around their campuses and college towns and are eligible to register and vote there. College students count in the Census for state and local formulas for federal grants, for Congressional reapportionment, and other benefits and advantages. [/quote]
