The punishment aspect of a male superintendent castigating his majority female staff by making them work during a planning day is something I cannot turn away from.  You PP seem to share this view with him.  Teachers were out with COIVD, some had to stay home with their own children and they are now being punished by having the only day they are given to get report cards done taken away. [/quote]
You are making this into something that the PP did not say.  There are male teachers -- this has nothing to do with gender.
I work in a male dominated profession (engineering) and I am not allowed to pull a "woman card" if I don't turn my work in on time.  Sometimes that means working on a weekend if I have to take unexpected time off due to childcare or when my office was not accessible due to COVID.  I'm not really sure why teachers are different.  If its that big an issue, move the end of the quarter forward a week, and make grade prep day on MLK day or some other not real holiday.  [/quote]

Ok- gender never plays a role. Take a day at spring break- I would prefer it as my kids go to FCPS and the breaks don't align anyway. [/quote]
