How do you know what the higher or lower level AAU teams are? Just curious. My kid is not that level.
One good way to know is to visit the team’s social media site and verify if they have kids playing in the big shoe company circuits - EYBL, UAA, and Adidas Gauntlet (at least these were the top 3 years ago when my kid was playing). Be aware though, that some clubs will claim to field circuit teams when really they have one good team, and - for example - it could be a girls team and your child is a boy. Also, it’s good to understand that some pretty bad teams will call themselves elite and travel all over the country to play in the lower divisions of big tournaments, which really doesn’t mean anything. HoopGroup, for example will put on big tournaments with 3 or 4 divisions, and teams that go 5-1 in the lowest division will bill themselves as super elite teams and brag about finishing 3rd in their division, which is kinda silly.
