The women in those photos didn't have truly problematic noses. I probably wouldn't have bothered with surgery for noses like that. The people I know who have had nose jobs had really bad noses. Like, really bad. My kid's dad has a really awful nose, and then he broke it but refused to get it fixed. So far, my kid's nose isn't looking like it's going to be a problem for him. It's the shape of their dad's, but not so bumpy/prominent or long. If the nose starts to take on a life of its own, I'd gladly find a great surgeon and have it fixed on our dime. I had breast reduction surgery as an adult and my mom didn't give me a hard time about it. In fact, she came to help nurse me afterward. Neither she nor my sisters had ginormous breasts like I did. We think I got them from my dad's side of the family. She completely understood how frustrating it was to squish them into painful bras and not be able to wear clothing that fit the rest of my body. I also had braces as an adult. I could say that it was dental hygiene thing but that wouldn't have been enough to make me endure the pain and expense of braces. I did it for cosmetic reasons and my only regret was not doing it sooner.
