Way back in the day WashU was a heavy Jewish school and was a school kids went to who didn't get into other schools they wanted, like the state schools.  It was very much a rich kid school and had a reputation.[/quote]

Rich kid school means more connection, which is why WashU is superior to most of the T20 and the ivies in terms of better job and grad school placement. Still better than every public school. [/quote]

The people we know went there aren't doing any better or worse.  Same for the IVY's.  My IT husband who went to a no name school makes more than my undergraduate-medical school IVY league sibling.  [/quote]

Ivy people don’t always chase money. People who went to a no name school have more to prove. If your husband had a shitty salary to match his no-name education - let’s says, stocking shelves in aisle 6 at a local grocery store - would you have married him?  [/quote]
