Hawking said he wanted to look for aliens.  It doesn't say he believed in aliens.  That's what science does, as opposed to merely accepting revealed wisdom like religion.[/quote]

So if you look for something. . . you believe it at least MIGHT exist.  I think Hawking went beyond saying a mere maybe anyway.

^^ I'm sure many scientists believe that aliens might exist. That's perfectly logical.  They don't, however, [b]pre-suppose[/b] like religious people that god does exist.  Completely different ways of arriving at conclusions which is why science and religion are not compatible.  [/quote]

I don't.  I have a 1,394 page book I base my decision on.  Some accounts in that book have been verified in historic records.

Very few have been verified as historical facts in historical records. In fact, none have, including the existence of Jesus. The early Christians, realizing that if Jesus were as important as the Bible says he was then he would have been mentioned by Roman historians, shoehorned a weird sounding passage into Josephus.
