Maybe you heard of. . Stephen Hawking? He believed in aliens. Tons of articles and interviews out there. Or would you argue he isn't very prominent in his field? https://www.space.com/29999-stephen-hawking-intelligent-alien-life-danger.html
Hawking said he wanted to look for aliens. It doesn't say he believed in aliens. That's what science does, as opposed to merely accepting revealed wisdom like religion.
So if you look for something. . . you believe it at least MIGHT exist. I think Hawking went beyond saying a mere maybe anyway. These arguments that scientists don't believe in alien existence are just devils advocacy.
^^ I'm sure many scientists believe that aliens might exist. That's perfectly logical. They don't, however, pre-suppose like religious people that god does exist. Completely different ways of arriving at conclusions which is why science and religion are not compatible.
I don't. I have a 1,394 page book I base my decision on. Some accounts in that book have been verified in historic records. There is no evidence of aliens.
And some accounts have not been verified. and the book varies in length depending on what edition you have in what language.
A credibility determination of a witness account doesn't require every single thing stated to be corroborated. Corroboration of some, with contemporaneous records, can be sufficient. Where is the alien witness account book? I'm sure that's credible. About as credible as pigs flying
DP here. Strawman, after strawman. It's been explained to you and you still ignore, which makes you a dishonest interocutor. No scientist "believes aliens exist". Some believe math says they probably do and are LOOKING FOR EVIDENCE. They are not blindly worshipping those aliens on the weekends or reverently reading a book purported to be alien words. Because that would be HIGHLY ILLIOGICAL. See the difference? Your second strawman in this post is that "credibility determination of a witness account doesn't require every single thing stated to be corroborated". Spider-man comic books have lots of geographic and historical facts. So I guess we all need to believe in Spider-Man also.
A Spiderman comic is fiction written for entertainment. The Bible is non-fiction, and biographical about, among other people, Jesus. And there are Roman records of his existence.
