They were all wrong. We need to be either in with enough force to accomplish the mission or get out. 2500 was not going to prevent the Afghan government and military from collapsing. We would have 2500 Americans spending most of their time in self protection.  [/quote]

All of the military leaders were wrong.  LOL.

In addition to our 2500, there were CIA and contractors and coalition forces.  From their testimony today, it seems that they believed this was sufficient to assist the Afghan army.  Our service members were there in support roles.  Not combat roles.

I do care. I care very much about the service men and women sent to fight a pointless and unwinable war for 20 years. I care that Biden had the courage to put an end to it, and held to America’s word. Just like he rejoined the Paris accord. We keep our word. [/quote]

Biden voted to go in back in 2001 and then presided while folks died.

Before the exit debacle, it had been years without deaths.  If we had managed our exit better, far less damage would have been done.  By your measure, all Biden had to do was show up for the “test” (the exit) to get credit.  By mine, he actually had to put something down on the exam (a well managed withdrawal). It is such a bogus chock full of low expectations argument to say it’s just about the courage to leave when that chucklehead  Trump already had us headed towards the door.  [/quote]
