It pisses me off people cannot cool it with their behavior to help keep our kids health and those who are vaccinated healthy.  Unvaccinated in this area are not the issue and there are plenty of vaccinated cases so we need those not vaccinated to get vaccinated and everyone to cool it for a few months so we can try to beat this.  AND, we need to get vaccines to other countries given US citizens feel the need to travel abroad and bring it back.  Its not as simple as just getting unvaccinated vaccinated anymore.

It truly sucks.  Some of us have kept our kids home for over a year and are easily looking at another year.  At this point, we are not sending our kids back and have zero plan since we are not prepared to homeschool.  Never in a million years would I have considered covid.

You are making the decision to not live life.  My kids didn’t miss a day of school last year and are returning this year.  They have play dates and we travel safely.  They’ve barely noticed the blip.  You are just passing on your anxiety.[/quote]

Midwest poster here— I got COVID in March.  I had a cough, runny nose, and 8 hours of stomach upset.  As a responsible human, I took a rapid test and since it was positive, took a PCR, also positive.  Neither of my kids got it and we tested everyone 3 more times.  Of course, we quarantined.

A huge number of people get COVID and it is like a bad cold.  Not even the flu.  Some people get it and die.  But for children, it is a number smaller than flu, so why would we stop life for that?  We have never done so before.

the fact is, it IS a bad cold (or flu) for the vast majority, especially if immunized. you need to wrap your head around that. we can’t cripple society for a disease mainly killing the people who chose not to vaccinate, and that numbers-wise is not that much riskier to kids than many other childhood diseases. [/quote]
