Spoke to my friend who's on our PTA, and she said our ES is down to 2 classes per grade due to lack of enrollment -- kids moving to private. We used to have 3 per grade.
That's so odd because ours is way up over last year.
How's the income level at your ES? Our ES pulls from a very wealthy district (99% SFHs, all $800k-$2mln) so the parents generally can afford to move to private if they want to. I think that's why we're down to 2 classes per grade this coming year.
Good point. Our school is also struggling to make two kindergarten classes. Many of our high income neighbors are going private. It's a really good public elementary school but I don't think people want to risk it.
