It's actually not tacky at all--whoever did it, did it well.  Just in the style and taste of the time, which is not current at all.  It reminds me of photographs I saw years ago (30+) in Architectural Digest.  The house itself is beautiful, but the furnishings could definitely use some updating.[/quote]
