Serious question--do you think they are turning good boys players away? I thought it was more an issue of not attracting enough strong boys players trying out from other clubs or from the bridge teams etc. Are they in position to cut lots of players? I haven't gotten that impression from other posters. DP, is our DS a current player?  Would you be okay with your DS getting cut?

My guess is for U12 and below things will ramp up from a talent and competitive standpoint for future academy teams now that the fee structure is super competitive and the only pathway to travel now is really through the academy since there is no longer ODSL to siphon off top young talent.[/quote]

I imagine that it will bring new kids to the fold but I know a handful of families in that age range that are leaving this year, or had already left from the year prior. BRYC has a retention problem, as well. It sucks. We'd like to stay because it is our closest club but we've accepted offer elsewhere for oldest child to be more competitive and benefit from better coaching. Other child on Bridge will remain as he's happy there and no reason to rock that boat. [/quote]

They are in no position to cut any players. The main issue is the same players that were separated into Elite and Blue at U9 are still separated going into ECNL. To believe they were able to pick the correct propsects at u9 for the top teams at u15 is crazy. It just shows there is absolutely no development what so ever going on there. Sure kids get better as they get older but with little to no help from the coaches at BRYC. You cant fix the problem if you dont recognize the problem.[/quote]

The problem is not the same boys and girls played from U9 to U15 still in the 1st team or the 2nd team.
The problem is no good players joined the top teams, either from the 2nd team, 3rd team, or from other clubs.
I always feel there is one 2nd team parent who complains his kid could not be promoted to the first team.. wonder why. let's blame the coach or the club.
