2021 to date (based on press releases): 13 (1 Clarksburg, 4/13) + 2 (White Oak, 3/25) + 1 (Silver Spring, 3/15) + 1 (North Kensington, 3/8) + 1 (Gaithersburg, 2/5) + 1 (Wheaton, 1/23) + 1 (Hillandale, 1/19) + 1 (Wheaton/Glenmont, 1/14) + 1 (Bel Pre, 1/12) + 1 (Gaithersburg, 1/10) + 1 (Germantown, 1/5) + 1 (Clarksburg, 1/4)).

For homicides to be up 300% compared to last year, the 2021 year-end total would be 51.

It’s murder  if “anyone”, police included , kill in self defense or defense of another. Cops are often put in that situation much more than regular people. When they act outside of that self defense, they should be charged with murder.  Years ago, they often got away with it, but it’s much more common now to charge them when the use of force was actually unlawful.  [/quote]
