In my state debt collectors cannot take your pension or life insurance policies. My ex put a pension we had while married in his will. The pension plan gave it to me as beneficiary because that superseded the will. You can put anything in a will or trust, but it has to be legal. Unless you have separate assets you kept separate before marriage I would get life insurance policies payable to your children. They bypass everything and will go directly to them. Keep your spouse completely out of it to be safe. [/quote]
