Maryland, despite being one of the smallest states in terms of square mileage (it is 8th smallest, or 42/50 in size), is the 5th most populous state. MoCo has the largest population. It's population is not declining. The economy is not declining. The unemployment rate is low, lower than the US rate. The economy is projected to grow. When you have mature industries, we do not need to have the highest growth rate because we already have a solid economy. Income per capita and household income are both much higher than the national median. [/quote]
