No.  It is ugly regardless of when it was put there.  The colors do not go together at all.  I can absolutely understand very ornate looks as we see in many, many palaces around the world. THIS is just terrible taste. [/quote]

It's the Green Drawing room of Windsor Castle. A salon where monarchs entertain monarchs but I'm sure the Queen will take your design choices under advisement.

The complaints are weird. You don't like it? Fine. But it's not ugly. It's a specific style (I think it's late regency)  and no one is the sole arbitrator of what is ugly or not.

What did the OP want, cute pictures in a farmhouse? Or some sterile modern box? They're royals. This is a royal palace and as royal interiors go, this is right on target. There is an entire history spanning 500 years behind these interior decorating styles of European monarchies. And as royal interiors go, this isn't bad (I agree some of them were waaaaaaaaay over the top). [/quote]
