I sing in a cover band that used to play a Jackson song. I asked that we don’t and the band was fine with that. I just felt icky singing his songs after seeing the documentary.
Why didn’t you feel icky before the documentary? These allegations aren’t new.
I’m not the pp in the band but this also rings true for me. Maybe I was too young to understand the allegations before. Maybe now that I have kids it makes me sick to know what happened. I watched the documentary and I was a huge huge fan of MJ. Now I change the radio station when he comes on. I’m only sorry I didn’t understand this sooner.
Again, these allegations aren’t new. There have been shows that made fun of the allegations for years. Only a person living under a rock wouldn’t know MJ was creepy. It’s a shame that ppl needed a documentary to sway them and for MJ to die so he couldn’t defend himself. That’s the reason ppl are defending MJ. He’s dead so basically anyone can say anything they want. I’m rolling my eyes at the ppl claiming now that they hate MJ. You didn’t care before when the victims were actual kids.
Creepy does not equal pedophile. And there are many reasons why it's different. We now have a more formed picture of what he did rather than rumors and unsubstantiated legal challenges. Not sure why you're being so pissy about it.
I’m the pp in the band and echo what others have said in this response. When the first allegations came out I was a kid and didn’t really follow or understand the gravity of the situation. When the second one came out I was in high school and thought maybe he really was just misunderstood. The documentary and Oprah special following explained to me so much about sexual abuse and changed my mind.
