Why can’t Langley attract enough kids? Are there issues with the school or neighborhoods? Just a thought, but perhaps more parents do value SES diversity these days.
I’m not sure what you mean by “can’t attract enough kids.” People move into this area specifically so that their kids can attend Langley. That there aren’t as many kids as some of the overcrowded schools is a plus, not a negative.
The "monthly membership" reports on the FCPS website go back to 2006-07. They show Langley's current enrollment is the lowest it's been at any time since 2006. Why is that when the county as a whole is growing? I also don't understand why FCPS added seats at Langley when there was a greater need for them at other schools.
DP- what is there to understand? That school doesn’t have much turn over. Those are big beautiful homes that people stay in. The population ages and it can be decades before another student bubble. It doesn’t have a bunch of cheap apts that see new tenants every few years.
+1
