PP is that William admitting he doesn’t read his briefing notes?
Yes. There’s been a few times when he admitted to not reading them after flubbing his lines - mispronouncing place names or people’s names. One time he was sent to open a library and mispronounced its name to his audience ?
He's the President of BAFTA (the British answer to the Oscars) and at the event honoring Bollywood he admitted he had never watched a Bollywood film.
What’s his problem? He was born into this immensely privileged position and yet he resents it and can’t be bothered to put in the bare minimum if work. It’s ridiculous.
Maybe he wishes he was an ordinary person? You say privileged he may think of it in different terms. He had no choice in the matter strictly because of his birth. To make matters worse, his father has a long term affair partner and his beloved mother dies. Don't you have any sympathy?
Not when he is completely fine taking the perks (two super luxe houses renovated and refurbished on the government's dime. It's well known that Kate tore out a brand new 50k kitchen just because it wasn't too her exact taste).
That doesn't prove anything. To me if he hates the reason he is there why not make the best of it? And that means taking advantage of the perks.
How is he "making the best of it" if he doesn't even read the briefing notes he pays someone to prepare on the way to an event? And then when he inevitably makes a mistake, he laughs about it to the audience? Doesn't he get that the subtext to that, is "haha I can't even be bothered to put my best foot forward for you rubes."
Are you the pp? I am waiting to here there tragic story. And to answer your question you can see things negatively if you dislike someone and positive things if you do like them. Haters: He is showing them contempt by laughing at them! He can't be bothered to prepare. What a bore. Positive: He made a mistake and is trying to be funny by making fun of himself. Self-depreciating humor. And when I mean making the best of it I mean enjoying the perks.
No I don't care that he has a tragic backstory. A lot of people do. They don't use it as an excuse to be lazy and rude though.
Maybe they do but, they aren't expected to do what William has to do. He had no choice in the matter. He has to live his life publicly doing this job. And again, we aren't talking about most people. If you are the pp it sounded like you had a tragic story. But, I see you don't. Prince William and Harry's story is unique in that their mother was shared by everyone. They had to grieve in public but, with a stiff upper lip. If you have zero sympathy than I say you have no heart. And speaking about lazy....it is your opinion and not fact. Tabloids don't matter because they are trying to sell papers. You apparently have plenty of time to post here. So you are lazy too!
It really blows my mind that “regular” people who presumably work full time for a living defend his inability to show up to a few handful of events per week and shake hands while be financially supported by the brithish public.
I defend him because I have no idea if there is a good reason behind it and neither do you. Why are you so invested? Are you British person actually living in the UK and thus supporting him? If not, it has zero impact on your life.
